Find My Handstand is a class she helped to develop to teach ANYONE with an interest in learning how to be upside-down. This class inspires students to develop the strength, flexibility and confidence to do headstands, forearm stands, and handstands safely. Using the pole as a prop, as well as yoga blocks, resistance bands, and the wall, students learn to trust themselves and learn how to use their bodies to not just get into inversions, but also learn how to balance on their own.
Read Barbara’s blog post to find out more about her approach to teaching handstands.
Aerial Hoop (also known as Lyra) is an aerial arts apparatus in which a metal ring is suspended in the air, and the aerialist performs skills underneath, inside, and above the hoop. It is often seen in circus performances. Aerial Hoop is great for training strength (especially the upper body and core), balance, grace, fluidity, and creativity. At Yoga Pole Studio, she helps to teach students the foundations and basic skills for Aerial Hoop. For more advanced student, she can teach fun and challenging combinations and sequences.
Barbara also teaches Flexibility classes at Yoga Pole Studio.
