Free June 12th Mindful Eating Nutrition Workshop

Do you feel like it’s just too hard to eat more healthfully? Do you know what you need to do to practice mindful eating, but just don’t know how to go about it? We will be hosting another complimentary community nutrition workshop at Yoga Pole Studio (led by yours truly!) to discuss how our environment at home, at work, and in the grocery store can sabotage our efforts to eat healthfully, and how we can outsmart it all to get ourselves on track to eating more mindfully!

Attendees of our 30-Day Mindful Eating Challenge workshop last month in April found it to be eye-opening and inspiring. We talked about the many ways that – despite our best intentions – we end up eating too much, choosing less-than-healthy foods, and never quite feeling satisfied. We acknowledged the challenges in our busy daily lives, then explored ways to eat more mindfully, to slow down, and to truly appreciate our food so that we be more satisfied.

If you attended our April workshop, come check in and tell us about your accomplishments and progress, what you’ve learned about what works and what doesn’t work for you, and plan for your next set of goals!

Remember our incentive from the April workshop: if you complete a 30-day mindful eating food journal, you will be rewarded with a week of unlimited classes at the studio for non-members or merchandise for current members.

If you are curious, here is a brief summary of the topics we discussed in our April workshop:

  • Distracted eating (in front of TV, in front of computer, reading, texting, on the phone, etc.)
  • Eating while under stress
  • Eating too fast (e.g. meals consumed in 15 minutes or less)
  • Inflated “new normal” portion sizes over the past 20 years
  • Ignoring hunger cues
  • Ignoring satiety cues
  • Tips for being mindful and mentally present when eating meals or snacks

We will be reviewing these topics plus introducing new ones in our June 12th workshop, so please come to share and learn!
