Barbara is a NASM-certified personal fitness trainer and certified yoga instructor whose passion for exercise and health are rooted in many years of competitive gymnastics.

That passion led to coaching gymnasts of all ages from toddlers to adults, ranging from absolute beginners to competitive teams. With advanced degrees in Fitness Instruction and Nutrition & Exercise Physiology, she has worked with personal training clients one-on-one and teaching a wide variety of group fitness classes such as Spinning/indoor cycling, kickboxing, group strength training, step aerobics, boot camp classes and more. Her close attention to detail, form and technique ensures that students develop a solid foundation before progressing further, promoting strong understanding of skill development while minimizing the risk of injury.

Barbara is now also certified in Kinesiological Stretching Techniques that helps improve flexibility in ways beyond traditional static or dynamic stretching. This method takes advantage of the fact that most muscles are responsible for more than one type of movement in the body. Barbara uses KST methods, as well as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, and many other flexibility techniques in her flexibility class at Yoga Pole Studio.
