Eating out at restaurants in New York or wherever I travel is a way to explore different ways of making food vegan and/or gluten-free.

When I go to restaurants, I take note of the decor and ambiance inside, as well as the food that I order and the food that my companions get, too. Even if my companions eat food that I can't eat, I still like to live vicariously through them. Of course, my photography-loving self also likes to take pictures of my food so that I can remember what I got and how beautiful it looked before I ate it. I truly believe that we eat with our eyes before we eat with our mouths, and the visual experience of what we are eating, where we are eating, and what things are like surrounding where we are eating has a huge impact of how much we enjoy our food.

Because I live in New York, eating out at vegan and gluten-free places is pretty easy. Some other places in the country aren't too bad either. But there are definitely some locations where eating this way is more challenging, so I like to document that as well, in case others might find it useful.

Below are some of the eating out blogs I have written so far, with more definitely to come!
